Today I had my first show for 2012. What a disaster it was! My mare Yankee Bizz decided she couldn't canter and reared a lot. We only did workig riding and showing, it wasn't much but it was strange as she just adores working riding. Last year at a showing championship, she was crowned Junior Working Riding Champion and today we come stone last. 
And today was also a big show as it was Higher Inter-regionals, where we compete against people all over Gauteng, so there was no excuse for her to behave the way she did. It just goes to show (haha) that you can have your day of excellence and then one that is so horrific you can't believe it.
During the week, we will get the saddle fitter and physio out just to make sure everything is ok and hopefully find out what the problem is. I have another show next weekend, a dressage show and I hope that by then she will be in a better mood and give her best.
It is just so heart breaking to lose like this as I put in so much effort to make sure she was ready for her show. I rode everyday and I lunged her, I did everything I could to just make it work and it just didn't work out. On the bright side my team came second overall!
