Pretty Palomino

My Dog died!!!

My beautiful Golden retreiver died two days ago. He was 9 yrs. old. I miss him so much! He was my friend,my roundup helper, my trail buddy and one of my families pride and joy's. He's in heaven with the Lord so he isn't in anymore pain but he isn't with us anymore. You will be sorely missed, my Baby Boy.

Sweetie, I am SO sorry to hear about your dog. It always hurts to lose such a dear companion. Although that type of pain isn't easy get over, something that helped when we were forced to make the painful decision to put down our 15 yo maltipoo (she was blind and had bad arthritis- we just couldn't be stingy enough to force her to go on that way), we made an area in our flower garden (and named it Maggie's Garden, after her) and bought a little memorial stone- I think it was appx $20,  that had a poem on it for her;

If tears could build a stairway,

And memories were a lane,

I would walk right up to Heaven

To bring you home again.

No farewell's were spoken,

No time for goodbye,

You were gone before I knew it,

And only God knows why.

My heart still aches in sadness,

And secret tears will flow,

What is meant to me to lose you,

No one will ever know.

About Pretty Palomino

I ride western/English/bareback. I like living in the country but for me I still don't live far enough out. I love horses with all my heart and want to do something for besides just saying I love them. Which is why I want a ranch for horses and mules. If all we do is stand in the background we lose our chance to do what we were meant to do. That goes for all of life as well as horse rescueing.
