• posting breakthrough( well, kind of)

  Had a really good day at the barn. Ramana( the Lippizaner I hope to lease very soon) is such a good girl and is so smooth. I noticed while we were on the longe that I was more in control of my thigh and ab muscles. I felt like ( for a short time anyway) I was getting in rhythm with the horse; we were working together finally. What a great feeling! Of course,after a few times around I started getting tired and losing my control....but hey, I had it for a little while! • Hi!

  Hey everyone  out there in horse land!! I'm a new member and would love to converse with anyone about horsies! I've just started riding lessons at the beginning of September and am loving every minute of it!!! My interest is in Dressage. Today,I was fortunate enough to ride a real Dressage horse( not just a bomb proof school horse)named Ramana. She is a Lippizaner and sooo sweet. I had a good lesson and feel pretty sore.I'm working on the longe line learning to post the trot.Every time I go for a lesson though, I wish I would've taken this up as a child ! The posting feels very awkward and I feel like I'm never going to get the hang of it( I keep waiting for the light bulb moment....)! I know that I haven't had enough time to master posting, but I'm ready to go!!! If anyone out there can pass along any thoughts, advice, antecdotes,etc about being an adult beginner, please reply.I'd love to hear from you!
