Thanks for all your kind words and thoughts I'm back at home, feels good to be home. I was talking to some of the people who saw me before they operated, and they were saying they didn't want to say anything before, but they totally thought I would never walk again. So I'm very glad the Dr said I would but I guess it's going to be quite the process. But I am just happy its going to happen at all. It sucks to watch my horses and not be able to just run over and jump on them. Everyone's worried I'll do too much too soon hee hee.Thanks again. I love this forum!

I am very glad to hear that the prognosis was improved after the surgery. You take care of you and keep us posted on your progress. I can hardly wait for the message saying you are back in the saddle again.

What most horse people have in common is their injuries. (fractured leg a few years back. The break was easy to heal, but the cut took forever.) Never underestimate the power of stupid horses. Hope your leg heals soon. (Hate to miss out on all the riding)

SHEESH! Sorry to hear about that! All these broken legs and people getting hurt, must be bad kharma or something!

A couple yrs ago i broke my hip from a horse aciident. Me and a friend of mine was riding one of my horses and since she had never ridin a horse before she wanted me to ride in front. My horse is used bein rode double but only with little kids (i was 16 and my friend was 18 i think) anywayz i got on her and rode her around to make sure she wasnt havin a off day and wasn't to hyper. Well we walked around in the little pasture for a while but soon go bored of that so we went in the bigger pasture so we might could trot a little. I turned around and told her to hold on b/c i was goin to get her to trot just a little well as soon as i got her in her trot my friend started screaming histerically which spooked my horse and made her start runnin and buckin, my friend reach around me and grabbed the saddle horn, by this time i was laying side ways in the saddle with my foot hung in the stirrup which led to the breaking of it. I now have 2 plates, 3screws, and 2 pins and a six inch scar to remind me of it every day. I was mad at her for a little while when i was cruches but could never stay mad at her for very long! She felt so bad and hasn't hurt me since! I love her to death but everytime i ride her i have that in the back of my mine, but now i am jumping and it has gotten me over my fear of cantering again. (sry didn't mean for it to be so long, long stary!)

Holy! That's my biggest fear. Getting my foot caught in the stirrup. That must have been pretty scary!! Did you have a long recovery. It's encouraging to hear you're back a it! I'm sure your friend probably felt like poo. That's funny the "she hasn't hurt me since" lol

i was on crutches for 4 months and had to wait a yr to get back on a horse or start training for softball. My friend didn't really feel bad she was actually kind of mad at me for making her trot but i asked her if she wanted me let her trot and she said yes so... oh well at first we thought it had paralyzed her because she couldn't fell her legs but she wound up just havin a bruised butt and a cracked cell phone!
