    Halloween Costumes

My barn is going to be having a Halloween party in October.  We're going to have a costume contest dressing up ourselves and our horses.  Does anyone have any ideas for a cheap and easy costume for my horse and I?

Borrow a Fireman's coat and hat for you.   Cut out big black dots and some big floppy ears from felt; glue dots on your horses body, attach ears to his bridle or halter and your horse is your dalmation.

Create a unicorn horn from wrapping paper tube attach to browband and add glitter to mane and tail.  Find a whimsy flowing fairy dress, add wings and glitter for you.  Go barefoot and bareback for a fairy and her unicorn.

Gather your most authentic western wear include hat & bandana.  Use western tack.  Make cantle bags from construction or cardstock add "US MAIL".  Glue a "US" brand made from cardstock on your horse and your a Pony Express rider!  You might want to practice your running mount.

    Sounds like fun!!!

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well perserved body, but rather to skid in sideways-Smirnoff in one hand- chocolate in the other- body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO, WHAT A RIDE!!!!"
