    Girths

I use my BO dressage saddles when I ride. The shorter dressage girths have disappeared from her tack room, while the longer dressage girths are too long for the horses I ride. How do I measure the horses for a dressage girth ( the short and the long), or any girth for that matter?

To measure for a girth, put the saddle and pads you intend to use on the horse, then witha tape measure, under the belly jsut behind the front legs were the girth will go, measure fro the right billets to the left billets adding a little so it will reach the first or second holes on each side.  You want room enough to tighten the girth without it being so long you run out of holes.  Hope that helps.Smile
