    Going to OKC!

I leave in a couple of days for Oklahoma City and the NRHA Futurity and Affiliate Nationals. I'm so excited. I haven't been there in a long while. Chase (my son) is showing in the Rookie Pro class. He's excited and nervous. The horse he's riding, One Grand Cow, is awesome. Gorgeous bay with quite a personality. I love Cow, such a sweetie.

We get to eat Thanksgiving dinner at the arena. Heck, for me it just doesn't seem like a holiday if there isn't a horse show involved. LOL (I remember back in my childhood years, the Area 4-H show was ALWAYS on Mother's Day weekend).

I've been watching weather.com and it doesn't seem like it will be too bad. Anyhow, I'm just so happy to get to go watch Chase compete in his first National show as a professional. He's done many as a youth and a non-pro competitor, but that was with me footing the bill and him riding his own horses. Now he's riding a client's horse, the client's paying, and that's added a bit to his nervousness.

Cool...and it is supposed to be COOL Thanksgiving eve and day. They are calliing for a hard freeze in Texas. I assume since Oklahoma City is right up the interstate they might get it too....on the other hand weather here is very unpredictable. Have a great time and good luck!

    Very cool Debbie!

I remember 2 years ago we went up on Thanksgiving to watch my trainer ride. Then we had Thanksgiving dinner at Cracker Barrel. My trainer is riding again this year in the futiruty and Achliary classes. He will be riding his two Croullios in the anchillary classes.

    Good luck to your son

    update!

We're here in OKC and it has been COLD for this Florida girl!

Other than still being cold (hahaha) it has been an AWESOME Thanksgiving Day.

We didn't get any turkey. In fact, I had a mostly cold chicken burrito about 5 pm and that's pretty much it until about half an hour ago when we went to Denny's for French toast.

No cranberry sauce or stuffing. No football games on tv or touch football in the front yard. Heck, not even the Macy's Thanksgiving day parade on our tv (though I did manage to sneak back to the hotel and catch about 15
    minutes of it).

But it was a great day anyhow, with much to be thankful for.

Chase showed around 6 pm. He was 45th to go. And had a smoking run! It was one of the best runs I think he's ever had. His horse worked so good for him. He held everything together. Just before his last run down he was loping right in front of me and I saw the biggest grin on his face. Chase NEVER smiles in the show pen, he's always thinking too hard. But today he was grinning ear to ear like a fool. He knew he was having a great run. And he did.

He wound up 4th!!!! I'm so proud of him. I wouldn't have cared if he hadn't placed at all. He did what he came out here to do. To prove to
himself that he could get the job done. Get through the class and keep his horse together with no major problems. I'd say he did that and more.

Anyhow, I just had to tell someone and the list is always awake! :-)
