    Confused [*-)] Which one?

I am thinking of getting a new fly sheet for my horse. I got the Horse Supply catalog in the mail today and i saw these 2 fly sheets that i really like..im not sure which one would be better. My horse stays outside all the time. So im hoping this fly sheet will hold up to the rain.

Here are the 2 fly sheets that i like.

    1. http://www.horse.com/zoom_img/BUM26.jpg    $49.99   Our standard turnout fly sheet features a double buckle front closure, deep shoulder gussets, cross surcingles at the belly, elastic leg straps with easy-to-use buckles, shaping darts, and D-ring at neck. We have improved the quality of this sheet by adding double stitching at the gussets to prevent ripping and tearing.

    2. http://www.horse.com/zoom_img/BUM30.jpg    $54.99    We have taken our standard turnout fly sheet and added great additional features, making this our new deluxe version which you will be sure to love. Deluxe version features a double clip and dee front closure, deep shoulder gussets, adjustable belly band, and elastic leg straps with easy-to-use buckles, D-Ring at neck and tail flap. Double stitching and nylon lining at the rub spots increase durability to prevent ripping and tearing.

Here is a picture of my horse who is 27 years old by the way. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y191/Nyhorsegal05/lass%20folder/lassswishingtail.jpg

So help me decide on a fly sheet.   Thanks.

I love the colors on both of them. I kinda like the green one better. I like that it has a tail flap  It's total up to you though.

He does not look like he's 27! I like the green one, too. It has some nice features. I did not see anywhere that's it's waterproof, though.

They both look nice. If it were me, I'd go for the second, just because it has extra features for only $5 more.

Scouts Mom, I've never used a fly sheet (I should!) but I don't think fly sheets are ever waterproof? Aren't they... like a loose weave? Not solid?

I've never used one either. I just assumed they might be waterproof, but what you say makes total sense!

I'v used them before i think they are made of cotton, they helped with the big horseflys. I only used them during the day, they held up pretty good.

    Re: Which one?

Starlette has one, but one problem I ran into was when the horseflys hatched, they'd get *under* it and she'd go crazy...I'd come home and she'd gallop right up to me to kill it...if I don't right away, she gallops all over the pasture, then back to me, letting me know I *still* didn't get it!
