Recapturetheglory is out of the Preakness because of a fever and a pulse in his hoof. They're considering the Belmont if the horse recovers, but it's not really Recapturetheglory's preferred distance.

    Re: Preakness 2008

Is anybody actually going to the Preakness?  I need to find someone who is so I can get a win ticket on Big Brown.  I have mine from the Derby, I just need the other two races :)

I trully believe barring injury that Big Brown is going to win the triple crown, and I don't just think that about every horse that wins the Derby.

I do like Big Brown (I admit he impressed me with still being spunky after the Derby!) but I also want to pick Riley Tucker b/c I have a dog named Rylie and a mini named Tucker! LOL

    Re: Preakness 2008

He ran an incredible race...more of a morning gallop, just with 11 other horses   Wink

He'll be against a much tougher field in the Belmont, but I think his best effort will be enough, seeing as how a big effort is something he has yet to show

    Thanx SBWhisperer27!

    Re: Preakness 2008

I don't know if he'll win Belmont or not. Honestly, he hasn't really caought my eye but then again I havent' really been tracking racing. I'd love to see a triple crown win though so I hope he can pull it off. Maybe I'm just cautious though. I thought Smarty was going to do it for sure in 04 so I guess I'm trying not to get my hopes up. he does need more competition though and Belmont has felled many of the most promising Triple crowner hopefulls. I think I read somewhere that his home base is in NY. If he was orginally based at Belmont I think that'll help cause the track woudl be famliar and he knows it and does well with it. Now can I Figure out finding time to  go watch him? Maybe? I guess that's wishful thinking.
