    Chaps!

So I borrowed a pair of chaps from a friend for a show next weekend, First off they are too big on me (even though she is smaller than me, go figure... But anyway, they've been up in her attic for years and the zipper touching them has created some rust stains on the leather, any ideas on how to get those off before the show next weekend?!?

I'm going for high point, hopefully anyway, I'll be showing Halter, english, western, trail and gaming with my arab gelding. Wish us luck! hopefully my parents will coem take pictures. :)

Are they suede or smooth?  If they are smooth, try to sponge it with really hot water.  If that doesn't work, use your fingernails (or a toothpick) and scrub in some saddle soap.  I know Murphy's oil soap will get it off very quick, but you have to over condition it later.

Suede not smooth, used a rag with hot water last night, worked a little but not as well as I would have liked it to.

Try a suede brush.  It's a little brush with copper bristles.  Great for getting dirt out of suede.  Should be able to find them in the shoe section of any department store, with shoe laces, polish, etc.
