Whoo hoo ! Another great day at the barn

Don't you love it when you know you've come to the right place?(barn wise, that is) While I was posting today, I completely "zenned" out.....the weather was perfect, my instructor and I had the place to ourselves, and I rode around and around  getting in sync with the horse. Why would you want to be anywhere else?  I know that if everything around me is falling down, I can count on  being at one with these beautiful animals we call horses.

I'm jealous!  My horse is recovering from an unidentifiable injury and I haven't been able to ride since March 31st!  But I know how you feel.  The first five years I owned him we boarded at an english schooling barn, and were restricted by their schedule and sharing the facility.  I then spent two horrible months at a place where the manager had no business managing a stable. I've found the greatest place and pray every night that I never lose it!  We have a huge indoor arena with four large doors and there are times when I'm alone there with my horse and I can see the scenery through those doors that I feel like the richest person in the world!

Even if you are unable to ride, there is something theraputic about packing up a brush and giving your best friend the beauty treatment while you tell him or her whats troubling you. Somtimes just sitting in your horse's stall with a good book or daydreaming or even taking a snooze (I've done it beforeSleep) is so soothing. Just spending quaulity time with your horse is very satisfying.Wilted Flower

I'v got a 2 year old son and  i get him to bed around 8:00, I head to the barn to brush and have some quiet time with the horses I love it!!!!!  Took my 2 yr old son for his first real ride over the weekend we didn't go far but we had a nice time. I decided he needed more horse time because he was beginning to like motorized stuff to wellBig Smile. I said he needed to see real horsepower lol.
