    feed in fly preventative

Has anyone used the feed in pest control? How well does it work agianst flys, mosquitos, horse flys, etc.....? and does it make your horse smell different?

Hi. I just had a post asking similar advice about fly control. I would just be careful when it comes to the feed through stuff because it can sometimes make horses colicky. My trainer purchased a bunch last year for the whole barn and then her vet advised against it because he was seeing so many colic cases because of it. I would consult with a vet first. Good luck. Pesky flies.

some people swear by it. I dont, I didnt see any difference at all.  The best fly control I have found is Farnams "Bite Free" its about 20 bucks a bottle, but you dont have to spray it on everyday and it works on ticks too. Which is nice because we live in the south. I have heard really great things about those fly predators too. But I havent tried them yet. Best thing to do is  pick up the poo as soon as you can and put it far far away from the barn.....
