How to clean your grooming bag

I have an Ariat Carry Bag that I keep my grooming tools in. Naturally, it's pretty dirty and dusty all over. I'd like to clean it but don't know how. I emailed Ariat to ask about cleaning it and they said that I should spot clean it. They specifically said that it's not recommended to wash it in the washing machine. Has anyone tried to wash it on the gentlest cycle and gotten good results? It would be a lot easier to do that than to spot clean it, but I don't want to ruin it either. Please help. Thanks.

I'm not familar with it, what is it made out of?

If it's just a nylon bag and they don't recommend the wash machine, hose it off first, then dunk it in a bucket of mild soap, hose it off again and dunk it back in a bucket of cold water to really rinse it off, then let it air dry.

It's 100% polyester. What kind of soap should I use? Laundry detergent?

    Thanks for your help.
