GALLOP POLL: DREAM VACATION

Thoughfuel prices may keep many of us closer to home this summer, it still costsnothing to dream about your ideal vacation. Suppose money were no object. Which answer best reflects the kindof horse-themed vacation you’d most like to claim?

1.An extended stay at a scenic-area “bed and barn,” with my own horse.

2.  A stay at a dude ranch with lots offamily activities.

3. A guidedpack trip into wilderness country--with no cell phones!

4. A tripto a major championship horse show or contest.

I will go with 3!  I think the no cell phones cinched it   really pretty country, mountains, streams and fresh air... I'm packed, when do we leave?

#4...definitely.  I have requested off work to travel to shows and would love to spend even more time at them.

No 3 please!!! And if I can bring my own horse that would really make it great!

I would definitly have to say #5 I loike to show very much, but there is nothing I like so much as spending time right at home with my horses. I like knowing that I can turn off my cell phone, and hide fromthe rest of the world anytime I feel like It. I've always felt that there is nothing better than just spending quality time with your horse(s).

#2 I have gone to 2 dude ranches and I was so sad when we had to leave! I had the time of my life! I wish I could live somewhere like that.

# 3 definitely!  Horses, peace and quite, and beautiful scenery, I could definitely go for that, but I don't see it happening in the near future.  With gas prices I am doing good to afford to go to work. 

#5  My cell phone doesn't work there anyway and I could finally spend some time with the horses that I have been wanting to.

Most definitely number ONE!!!  It would be like number 5 only better; new places to ride, and I wouldn't have to do the dishes!

#1 - our 'bed and barn' was our L/Q trailer - and of course, the 'boy's were with us and were model citizens being corraled and picketed for 6 nights - and 4 - 6 hour rides during the day - my idea of Heaven (the dog got to go, too).

4. I'd like to spend an entire week at Congress or a NRHA show.
