    she's late?

OK  here's the deal.      One of our mares, was bred the beginning of june on the 7th & the 9th.   She delevoped an infection that i brought to the vets attention on the 15th.  She treated her on the 19th with a uterine flush/gentamycin & send out a culture.  The culture has com back with a strep bug .  The vet has said she will need to be re-treated when she comes into heat.  But she should have come into heat a few days ago.  She seems to run about 24 days.

Would her treatment cause a delay ?   She wouldn't be pregnant now with the treatment she had right?

    Any one have a guess?

Well, I have known perfectly healthy foals that have been born to mares who supposedly couldn't possibly be in foal due to infection, so I guess that yes she could.

Are you serious?  It is possible?   I've got a different Vet coming out this week to see if she is preg.  Then we will go from there.    No discharge in a while-    I was concerned that if she was preg. that making her come into heat to treat her wouldnt be right.   I'm sooo confused.  I guess we will see what she is first..

Thanks for a glimmer of hope!!
