Thank you for the continuing education on the care of our equine athletes.  The article referenced above, from the July 2008 issue of Horse & Rider included a boxed sub-title 'My Own Story' which made a significant addition to the information concerning high tec, translate that- expensive.  There are so many things we are tempted to overlook in the management of our horses and just as Dr. Crabbe suggests, the best cure is often several ounces of prevention in the package label of 'good horsemanship.'  I want to be the first to admit, It's not the easiest path to put in the time and the sweat, but it yields intangible benefits in the relationship with your horse.  So, thank you to Dr. Crabbe for the ongoing efforts at teaching us the higher aspects of good horse management.  I have often enjoyed your thoughtful presentaions in the past.  An additional thank you to the Horse & Rider staff for the variety of information which is presented so regularly to benefit the Horses and the Riders. 

Thank you, Juli.  As a long-time reader of Horse and Rider, I have benefitted greatly and, I like to believe, my horses have benefitted too.  Sometimes it amazes me how closely the articles follow the progression of my progress.  I was so ready to quit showing, then the thoughtful articles about the same thing came out.  I was looking for a better alternative to some hoof problems in several horses in my care and I stumbled on a video of Clinton Anderson's RFD TV show about the barefoot ideology, followed by articles in Horse and Rider.  The list goes on, and so I offer my thanks and appreciation to the staff and contributers at Horse and Rider, again.
