#2 - private boarding stable - the boys are very happy there - in during the day in summer (no sunburned noses) and out all night; in during the night in winter (its nice and cozy).  The best part about this facility is that the owners live IN THE BARN and their 'house' is above the stalls - their house windows look out on the stalls!!  its the best set-up I've ever seen - they don't have to walk outside to get to the barn, just a flight of stairs and they are there!  And its 12 minutes from my house and backs to a State Park - lots of natural surface trails and abundant wildlife.  The boys never miss a meal nor are they ever fed late.  And they don't look at me like I'm a food dispenser.  When I retire I'll move and bring them with me.

SmileMy horse is boarded at a friend's and is very

well cared for, my friend breeds top quality

Quarter Horses, so he has alot of room, a pasture of his own,

has a half sister that is a stallmate, sometimes a pasturemate.

He is a yearling, gelding Qtr. horse.

Our horses are kept on 10 acres of family property where we all live and share in the duties. My husband and I are the primary caregivers though. We have a full facility with arena, tack room, round pen and hay barn with five roomy 20x20 covered paddocks. Ocassionally a horse will go stay with my trainer, but as soon as possible, he is back at home.

Having boarded out before, I like having control of my horses' care and feeding plus it is great to be able to go up anytime to show friends or say hi.

    Thanks for asking,

Briahna lives at Serrano Creek Ranch, in Lake Forest CA, about 25 miles from my house.  I'd love to have her nearby at Huntington Beach Equestrian Center but there is no place to trail ride nearby and I don't own a horse trailer and she doesn't fit in my Jeep!

My horses live on my property, however I did have one of my horses boarded at a very nice facility I'm lucky enough to live close to.  I was starting her under saddle and promised my husband I wouldn't ride her when alone.

My horse lives at a big boarding stable. She's MUCH happier there than when I had her at home all alone. She is also much better behaved, partly because of a better attitude but also because the stable owner has given me excellent training help. I also have to admit that it's much more convenient for me, especially since I travel almost 2-1/2 hours hours a day to & from work.

My two horses live with me on my property. My husband and I just bought property a year ago so I could keep them at home.. I love them being there and taking care of them myself..

My 2 horses live with me!  After years and years of boarding in good and awful places when I had just the one mare, I finally was able to move to a small farm where I could bring her.  Then, of course we had to get her a companion, since she was used to constant horse company.  Sadly, we lost her last year, but through my shoer, I found a wonderful new horse buddy, who also gets along great with our other horse.  Nothing is better than having my horse where I can see him, go out and give him a carrot, hop on and ride from my barn, etc.  Yup, it's work, but every shovelful is sooo worth it!  Yahoo!

    2.  I live in suburban New Jersey.  My horse used to live at a fancy show barn 3 miles from my house and he wasn't very happy.  Now he's an hour away in more rural New York at a boarding barn where he gets turned out in a large paddock with other horse buddies for hours on end.  And it's a comfortable kind of barn, where I can muck his stall when I want to.  He loves living there - he went originally for a week's "camp vacation" and has stayed for 2 years.  I drive 500 miles a week to see him but it's worth it.

    1. My horses (i have 2) lives on my property - That can be a LOT of work, but I can see them 1st thing in the morning out my kitchen window while making a cup of coffee. I can feed in my jammies. I get my 'Good Morning' nickers - as soon as I open the back door. They are what I see 1st when I pull in the driveway at night and I get my 'Hi Mom' nickers as soon as I get out of the truck. I start and end my day every day with what I love most - my horses, dogs and cats and my husband who made it all possible - who can ask for more than that??
