    Sad - RIP Bailey

So when i got to my new farm there was a baby horse almost a year old. His name is Bailey and his owners bought him mom not knowing she was pregnate! Keep in mind these people are new horse owners. My horse Sunny was best friends friends with him. His stall was in the arena and whenever i would let sunny out he would run over to see bailey

Bailey had jsut been started to be bet turn out with horses he was in a pasture with one other horse who was pretty calm and took a beating from bailey.  Well on tuesday Bailey was rought houseing with intrepid and was bucking and rearing like a little boy should but he was playing so hard that he broke his back! The person who feeds saw him laying down thinking he was sun bathing since it was a whopping 56 degrees. Well when he didnt get up to be brought in the person called the vet and the owner and sadly Bailey had to be put down on tuesday:(

Bailey was only two months away from turning one.

This is also a not to people when you see your horses sunbathing and playing hard check them out all over and becareful!

That's very sad news. Horses will be horses and it's amazing what they can do out in the pasture and get into trouble.  It's a great pity that it happened at such a young age, all the potential.. just gone.  My heart goes out to his owner.

I remember a couple of years ago, I arrived at the barn to see Annapolis flat out on his side under the trees and Star hovering over him.  My heart was in my mouth as I walked over to check on him.  As I approached, he raised his head and looked at me and then lurched to his feet.  I have never been so relieved.

Re: Sad - RIP Bailey and now his mom

so the even sadder thing is that the people who owned him must have bad luck with horses! Seriously its really bad!

So Lamone was baileys mom and not to long after Baileys incident lamone had a incident.

The owner was riding her on a trail ride and had ground tied her using a post in the ground. Lamone spooked at something and took off ripping the post out of the ground. When horses have things attached following them its kinda scarey to them like a snake or crock following you. So this make her run like no tomorrow so there was a tree in her way and she went to jump it and well post dont jump trees, so the post got caught in a branch and lamone flipped over and broker her shoulder and her leg. She was able to get up and run over to her owner with her leg flopping in the wind refusing to leave his side. The damage was so bad that she had to be put down. :(

So this makes horse number two in like 2 or three months and not much later have i learned that earlier in the year they had a lost a horse to colic. :( My heart goes out to them and their new horses. I have since then left that barn like 2 months ago to go for training with my horse and have not herd anything else.

I wish them better luck with horses since as these are the people whould do anything thing to put a smile on their horses face while being smart about it.
