Last Sunday, there was a "dock dogs" or "splash dogs" competition here.  If you ever get a chance to go watch, you should - it's a hoot!  I'm not sure which dogs I liked better - the ones that knew what they were doing, or the ones in training.

You could always give it a shot.  These dogs and owners were having a lot of fun.  If the dogs had never gone off the dock before, they would start them by having them go up the "out" ramp (easy in and out) and put the toy in the water and see if the dogs would enter the water to get the toy.  It's helpful if the dog has a strong "toy drive".  Then, they would graduate to the dock.  So with the pool, maybe you could just start at the steps?

What fun that must have been, Remmer.  Are you going to teach Brandy to splash?  She looks like a golden, and goldens love the water.  She has the most adorable face, by the way.

I would love to try it with Brandy, as she does like the water, but she's not very toy motivated.  If I could figured out how to make a bone float, she migh dive in for a good bone!

Does she fetch? Thats how we get our dogs in the water. Of course they usually aren't going of a dock.  Althought the dog we have now, choc. lab. would need no motivation.  She jumps in the pond or river at least twice often more in one day.
