A quick question to all of you.

If things work out would you take out some sort of riders insurance?

I agree that you would be responsible for any injuries to him while you were riding/handling him.... but I think the question of additional insurance is more one for your own insurance agent. If he says for instance that you'd be covered under homeowners up to $100,000 (pulling # from hat) then you have to decide whether that's enough coverage for you & Paul to feel comfortable with. If he says no, you're absolutely not covered then I would probably want to get some sort of insurance.

Another thing is you might want to talk to these people about a release of liabilitiy covering both of you in all except perhaps the most extreme case of negligence.

We don't have an insurance agent. I don't think insurance agents are common over here.

I'll have a word with - We can talk to our house insurers and see whether this is covered under our current policy.

Tah dah! Made it here through Yahoo. Yahoo made it easy even for me to figure out. Since Yahoo users were getting in, it looked like a likely way to get in. I've cued in LadyMcCue as she already has a Yahoo acct., but got frozen out on her other acct.

    Still figuring everything out.......

Great news on the horse, both riding Jack now (and right out your back door) and the scheme: horse-of-the-future!

Great you made it! I was afraid we had left you and LadyMcCue behind. I saw she made it in to as she has answered the roll call.

Yeah, I'm quite excited about it. We are going to set something up next week and then hopefully I'll be riding Jack around our area, which has supposebly some really nice rides Smile

As for the scheme that is brewing we'll have to wait and see what happens... I've got to save up enough cash to start with for it to have any chance of working out.

Well..........I made it. Had to go through Yahoo to get here. I've been trying to figure out how to get my sig up, but I'm not computer smart and it's been really frustrating. No copy and paste like About, so do how does this work? I gotta type in all that malarkey? PITA I really don't like this format at all. Angry

That's great news about Jack. Hope it all works out for you.

Now back to my rant. I'm off to try to figure out this stinking format for a sig. Or maybe not. I don't even like this stupid little box to type a reply in. No fonts, and no unread messages to me. I don't know about everybody else, but I don't have the time to wade through alot of threads just to see if somebody answered me. Not on dial up. OK, quitting. See ya later!

Well it seems like you got your signature working... Yeah! it took me ages to work out how to make it work!
    Smile

I'll keep you posted on how I go with Jack (ofcourse that goes without saying) At the moment I don't know how often she wants me to ride him. Personally seeing that he is only 6 and still quite green I would think that the more he is ridden the better it will be for Jack (more training) and his owner. I guess I'll find out next week.

I have looked into riders insurance and depending on the level of cover required it's not really that expensive for a years cover so i'll probably take that out once I know some more details.

Grumble grumble.....I see you two got your sigs up in no time with no help.... I had to get RR to help me .... I feel like such an idiot!! Blush

But I am glad to see both of you here.... I'm planning on a week or two to see where my "home base" will be although will most likely jump back and forth as much as time permits.

You guys, I'm really kinda liking this forum. Is it just me? There are several features I'm finding that make the bad stuff a little easier and I love the photo galleries, the fact that you can add people to your friends list and see if they are online, I really like the private e-mail feature (it's easy to use), etc. I did find that if you use the My Home feature and the View Posts from Last 24 Hours features, it makes things easier.

Now, about my trip. We cut it a little short and came back a day early, but we really did have a good time. I enjoyed meeting the 3 aunts, 1st cousins, countless 2nd cousins, and even more countless 3rd cousins! That side of the family appears to love having kids!!!

Anyway, here's a picture of me and my youngest aunt on my dad's side. Beth Photo

I'm with you, actually starting to like it. Yes, I still miss "unread" but gosh, some of the other stuff is great. Now about that "24 hour".....

Don't know if this will link ok, but it gives you the thread # in any case.

CeCeHorseLuv gave an update on Destrier and AppleJack, but it was buried in the I Want This Filly thread, which I wouldn't have read if I hadn't just kept clicking "next"! Maybe it's just me (because of Boots), but I thought y'all might be as interested as I am in keeping up with their training. :-)

    Back and forth, LOL!

Thanks for the link; I was very intrested in reading about Destrier & Applejax and would never have happened upon that post otherwise.

Re: McCue Redkan Escambia Desert Conference

I should have put up a warning on that post. Snarly! I was so frustrated by the time I got registered I was spittin' nails.

That was strange. My sig worked fine here, but ended up all out of whack of the other thread. I changed it anyway. Just to be on the safe side.

That's good that the insurance won't be that much. I'm with you on that one. I really think you should have it when riding someone else's horse like that. You just never know. I'm so excited for you. I really hope this works out for you. I'm waiting for the temps to come down so I can get on my horse. 104 today just a few miles from me, down on the river. Should have been cooler there than here. It was soo hot today. The boy's were so sweaty. They're spending a good part of the day at the barn under the overhang where it's shady. I think they like the fans too. Triple digits again tomorrow. Yuch. Anyway, I really hope this all works out for you. Definately keep us posted.

How the heck do I turn on the UBB code? Or do I have to? Confused We'll see if that worked. I'm confoosed as usual.
