Thanks for the hugs I needed those. I've been an emotional mess since all this happened.

I actually cried when I found out what the judge was telling people (that was before he came over and told me personally).

I am determined to show the world that Shadow is a wonderful and beautiful dog that deserves those tickets, so we will try again and continue showing her and hopefully qualify for Crufts 2007. Where we can try again.

Thanks for those hugs I needed them - I'll go down to floor level in a sec and give Shadow a huge hug too. She is a wonderful dog and so affectionate. She seems to know that I need comforting as she is sticking to me like glue today.

I will continue showing her and hopefully we'll be able to qualify for Crufts 2007, so we can try again next year.

Tasji that sounds horrible, like something out of a horror movie. I'm so very very glad you are all ok. This had to be so much worse than a simple "fender bender". I don't blame either of you for being very upset. I agree, the insurance company is probably going to be difficult, due to the timing. I hope you can get it straightened out relatively quickly, probably will be able to do so as long as you can document the fact that the switchover had been in process for a while. Good luck.

Ya, a weaner dog. He's a cutie patootie. Loves to roll in the poo. Dry stuff so far. I think he will be staying inside when it's muddy out there. He loves to clean up Chenos dropped beetpulp bits. Wink

That mag. supplement sounds like a big hit for Mav..

$80. for Norton? you must have more than just the antivirus program. Isn't it a rip off. Then they want the update subscription every year.. bummer. Fine if it works but the price seems to be going up, go figure. Wink

Edited to add pic of both new dogs to post.

WOW! I read your post on the "big" accident. Thank the Lord you were not in that one. God Bless those who were and survived and Condolonces to the families who lost loved ones.

That must have been very scary. I am glad it all turned out as well as it did, tho very sorry it interfered with your showing. Frown Blessings can come in strange packages..

Yeah it was very scary - especially when the water started pouring in. I was a wreck the next day and that must have gone down the lead to Shadow making her worry too. She might have been okay if I had let the breeder show her but I had worked so hard to get there I really wnated to be the one to show her. Maybe not the best decision but we'll never know will we?

The insurance company knows when we arranged for the switch as we dealt directly with them. I just can't shake the feeling that they will be difficult when push comes to shove because of the timing of the accident. I guess we'll just have to see what happens this week and hopefully we can get this sorted out soon (and me back on the road).

Yeah I'm glad we weren't in that one either, when we got there the motorway had already been closed for an hour and the traffic was really bad - which is why we decided to get of the official diverted route and try and get to the next junction down.

Oh well I suppose that there is always next year for Crufts 2007. By that time Shadow should be more mature and able to challenge for the CC. At least I now know that she was the best in her class and that she would have had the first place if the judge had been able to go over her.

    T,

I'll bet that she got the complete update. Antivirus and Norton Internet Security. The total I paid came out to that price which includes a 2 yr suscription.

Good Grief! I'm amazed you were able to pull yourself together and walk into the showring after that experience.

I'm sure Shadow is reassured by having you beside her at shows. She's a sensitive soul and would feel abandoned if you were to hand her over to a pro to show. Stay confident, believe in yourself and you two will be successful yet.

I can't help but think you were still lucky that day...a little earlier on the road and it could have been you those rolls of wire fell on.

I saw the winner of Best of Show on telly last night - an Australian Shepherd, bred here in Canada and showed by an American. It didn't look any better a representative of its breed as your Shadow is of hers.

The Best of Show at Westminster, in case you hadn't heard, was a coloured Bull Terrier, who won for his perfect egg-shaped head. I heard an interesting interview with the Judge (Canadian)as to how he selected the winning dog from among the various Best of Breeds.

I'm relieved to see you posting here - heard Kansas had been hammered by a tornado and floods and was worried you might have been in their way.

Re: McCue Redkan Escambia Desert Conference

I am so glad all of you are alright. My heart stopped reading about you being trapped in that stream. I have deep water fear, so doubt I would have handled that situation well at all. To be able to continue on and walk into that show after what happened show's alot of courage. On your' part and Shadow's too. I'm proud of both of you.

I hope the insurance company doesn't give you too much grief and settles the claim quickly. You just never know what the insurance companies will do. We thought for sure they would cancel us after our' daughter totaled her car. They didn't. Really shocked our' agent. I really wanted to say something to her about her doom and gloom attitude, but didn't. For once LOL!

This was a setback, but not a major one if the judge is any indication. You and Shadow will come back from this, and will probably be closer and better than ever. Each challenge you face together makes you stronger.

I am very thankful that you weren't involved in the accident on the main highway. My heart and prayers go out to those who lost loved ones. I'm also saying a prayer of thanx that you and your's are OK. ((((hugs)))) I'm so glad you're safe and well. Nita

Awwww, he's so cute. The little short guy. Your' other new addition is very pretty. I love her coloring.

The magnesium supplement has been a lifesaver. Not sure what I would do without it. It works for fractious mares too during heat cycles when they get nasty tempered.

I have the complete bells and whistles Norton program. Of course it's old and obsolete now. Not sure I want to buy another one. That was kinda spendy and the price is probably higher now. If it's only supported for two years, well then it's time to rethink that. I'd probably have to uninstall the old program and then install the new one, and pay lottsamonees. For two years? If it lasts that long now. I've downloaded every security update from Microsoft etc etc, so I should be OK. If not I'm fried. Ooops, I might have to buy a new pooter. Will have to do that anyway one of these days. Hubby told me so and I believe everything he tells me. Shocked Did I just say that? Surely not. Laugh

Re: McCue Redkan Escambia Desert Conference

It was very hard but I thought I had managed it. Did have a panic attack before I went in though - so that would not have helped things.

It was all very traumatic and stressful and you are right Shadow is a very sensitive dog and she is very close to me so even if her breeder had shown her she probably still would have gone to bits as she knew I was so stressed out.

I have entered us into two more shows the first one is in April and the second one is in May. I have another 3 shows to enter which will take me upto the middle of July and then I will have to assess how her coat is looking before entering her in any more shows as Shadow does not look very good out of coat.

I was rooting for the Australian Shepherd I thought it moved like a dream! I also like the little Welsh Springer Spaniel... Shadow is still immature looking though... time will only improve her Smile Her mum got the Reserve Challenge Certificate for our breed at Crufts. It was her first ticket and she is now 5. I hope I don't have to wait that long for Shadow to get a ticket.

I don't know how they judge them, I know they are supposed to judge them against the individual breed standards but still how do you choose between the different breeds? It's a mystery to me.

Re: McCue Redkan Escambia Desert Conference

We are still waiting for them to come back to us so that we can arrange for an assessor to come round and have a look at my car. Hopefully they will do this soon so that we can start sorting things out. I know that I'm not going to get as much for my car as I think it's worth though. The will probably gove me rock bottom price even though the car was immaculate before the accident.

I've already entered us into 2 more shows and I will keep showing her until she looses her coat again. We should do well this year but with three sisters competing things will get very tough. (last year there where only two of us)

    We are chasing the ribbons....
