    Barns using Facebook

I was wondering if any barns are using Facebook as a way of attracting boarders and riders. If so, what are you doing and how successful has it been? As everyone knows, the economy is hurting just about everyone and the barn where I ride is no different. My barn owner was asking me about getting on Facebook today, but I really couldn't tell her much about using it for business purposes. Any information or insight you could provide would be greatly appreciated!

One of the barns near mine has a Facebook page.  It seems to be geared more as a page for their current riders rather than to attract new business, but I could see people who stumble on it getting interested and gaining a good feel of the place along with contact information.  It's mainly the news and goings on, write-ups on their shows etc, and there's a link to the barn website as well.
