The ears tell me he is a Jack Russell mixSmile  And alot of Jacks love water too.

I ride high in the saddle, always saddle my own horse
still I'm every inch a lady from the outside to the core
I take the trail less traveled `cause I know where it leads
I live my life by the cowgirl creed

As for me and my horse, we will ride for the Lord!

The ears and energy level could also mean pittie. ;)

Hope if he is a Jack mix, the jack was the daddy.  OUCH if the Jack mommy had to give birth to lab puppies!

Nik -  We think that he is jack russell because of his size.  He is about 20lbs. and the vets said he wouldn't get much bigger.  I think that a pittbull lab mix would be a pretty heafty dog, right?  He is also very light boned for a lab mix.  Narrow chest and a tucked up tummy, all things that point to a smaller dog mix.  However, I don't know much about pittbulls, so I could be wrong.

We were playing at the "tube" and a guy came with his two russells and asked us if Teddy had russell in him... it just seemed to make sense.  I think we are going to DNA test him though, we get asked what he is so much that we would like to know how to answer!

If I were you, I'd just call him a mixed breed (Lab mix, Lab/JRT mix, etc. and just leave it at that. ;)  Unfortunately, the DNA tests tend to be horrendously inaccurate.  There are a few out there that are a bit better than the rest, but still flawed.  There have been people who bred their own dogs from known, quality dogs and the tests came back something entirely different than they already knew... like a Mastiff mix for a Shih tzu, LOL!  They're also pretty expensive... at least the ones that are sometimes halfway accurate.
