Congrats, CG! Wow, sounds like a lot of us are getting new horses lately. Woohooo!!

Just wanted to point out that, in order to prevent sand colic, you need to give her something like SandClear or anything else that has psyllium fiber in order to remove all the sand from her system.

As far as the ulcers go, try U-Guard or Neigh-Lox or something similair. The same horse who got the "grill" was going through terrible colics and the vet figured out that it was ulcers. He did a month of GastroGuard and is now maintained on U-Guard. Ever since he's been on it, he is far less cranky, so I guess his tummy feels better.

She looks great!  Congrats, and be sure to post tons of pics when you get her!

Metamucil is a psyllium fiber product, but it is much cheaper.  I assume it works the same though I could very easily be wrong.  Does it?

I will post tons of pics!!  She is a very calm gelding-like mare, but I think there will probably be lots of reaction to Harley, my hog, so I feel like there will be lots of interesting pics as well.
