    Need some Help

Hey guys... I havent posted on here in quite a while, but need some help with my newest horse Major. He's gaited, and I need some help finding some good refereance books, videos on riding a gaited horse. I can't seem to find a gaited trainer in my area, and now that I'm trailer less, I need some help. He's a big boy, and although I can get him to gait intermitantly, he wont stay in gait. I know it has more to do with my lack of knowledge, than it dose with his willingness, as he will go forever for me.  So... any good refereances (sp) I do not have the internet at home, so web pages at this point arn't going to be helpful!

    Thanks!

    Michelle

One book that has helped me a great deal with my Missouri Foxtrotter is Easy Gaited Horses by Lee Ziegler....

She talks about the different gait that these horses can do, ground work, in the saddle work, to recognize what gait your horses is doing, to get him to do that gait and keep him in that gait.

You could probably find it on Amazon.com...

    Thank you,
    Brandi

The Lee Zigler book is absolutely awsome also the videos by Diane Zueck Deford are good and can be found on the TWHBEA web site I went from quarter horses and arabs to tenn walkers and spotted saddle horses and found the best way to fine and establish the gait your horse may have is lots of dog or ordinary walking and when he is timed up and you are comfortable the two of you will find his easy gaitand then buile from there

I have always had gaited horses but never looked for any books.. There is only one magazine that I know of about gaited horses - At a Gait. Its pretty handy time to time. I also know that Clinton Anderson has a whole series of DVDs about gaited horses but its really expensive & I've never seen it & I dont know of any one else that has used it.
