    5 year old OTTB mare

    http://www.equine.com/horses-for-sale/horse-ad-923610.html

There seems like there may be something a bit "off" about her... but I'm not sure.  Maybe a bit butt high?  Again, I'm a dummy when it comes to confirmation, so assistance will be much appreciated.

I am looking for a dressage prospect, btw.

Uh oh.  LOL!  I like her too... I may have to go check her out!

So much for taking things slow...

I like her also...maybe it is a sign!  I don't know anything about confo either, but to me she looks nice, but like she is still growing.  She just still has that "I am the size of a horse but I am really still a baby and I don't know what to do about it" look.  Maybe you should look at her, though if the man in that pic is going to be there watch out, he looks kinda mean...

I have been in email contact with the owner.  She says "no vices." (I asked about cribbing, etc.).

I was able to download her race records.  She was first raced as a three year old in 2007.  Here is her record:

    08/03/07 6 furlongs dirt 9th
    08/18/07 6 furlongs dirt 5th
    08/24/07 6 furlongs dirt 4th
    09/01/07 5.5 furlongs dirt 6th
    06/08/08 6 furlongs dirt 6th
    06/22/08 5.5 furlongs dirt 6th
    07/20/08 6.5 furlongs dirt 4th
    08/10/08 5.5 furlongs dirt 2nd
    08/31/08 6 furlongs dirt 3rd
    06/27/09 6 furlongs dirt 3rd
    07/12/09 1 mile 7 yrds dirt 5th
    08/02/09 6.5 furlongs dirt 2nd
    08/16/09 6 furlongs dirt 3rd
    08/29/09 5.5 furlongs dirt 2nd

I also plan on downloading a few races and watching them, but there is a cost so I want to make sure I'm on my home computer so I am not interrupted. ;-)

Too light boned in the legs for my taste, those cannons are long and thin.  I think she looks so butt high because (a) she IS butt high, but also (b) she's hock high and (c) bad picture angle.  I like her front end -- another one you'd have to see move to really know anything.

Being a TB she may even out a little bit more still but that mare is SERIOUSLY downhill.  If you are looking for a dressage prospect her conformation is going to make everything a challenge for you.  She may be fine if you just want to do lower level dressage but if you dream of doing anything 2nd level or above her conformation is really going to work against your efforts.
