    Back-Saving Techniques

The October issue of EQUUS magazine had an article on a topic near and dear to my heart -- "Back-saving techniques for horsekeepers"

I've put my back out lifting bales of hay, even hoisting a saddle on to a 16 hand back, so it's something I think about often!

The article offers tips on lifting hay bales and feed sacks and many other heavy chores around the barn.

Do you have a special Back-saving Tip to share with other horsekeepers?

Like... get DH to do the heavy stuff? Seriously, it's a good topic. I switched to a treeless saddle for me and my horses. I use a hose to fill buckets except in the winter. A Newer Spreader, also, saves me a lot of heavy work.

Horses give us the wings we lack.
