Jayne-Admin:That's awesome, Dillon! Well done!
Thanks, Jayne.I have a lot more work to do to refine leg-yields for next year. I had so many setbacks this year with the loss of training time due to an inner ear infection that affected my balance so much.
The judge for Dressage was a USDF "L" program participant for 2009 (don't know what that means) and was the 2006 Dover Merit Award winner at the 2nd level. Ranked 12th in the nation for 2006 for first level musical freestyle. I got a lot of "8" from her on the freestyle, and one "8" on the test. Funny thing on the Freestyle, they didn't get my music cued right, so I had to start it a second time.
The Equitation judge didn't give clear direction on what he wanted. All he wanted us to do is halt, and reverse. I did a circle at least once to create some distance between me and another rider. But at the end, I thought he was asking for a line up. My spotter/groom was with me. She was messed up too by the unclear directions. He wanted us to like in trail class weave around cones. I took Blue very tight, and straight around the cones. Then we had to line up. He asked each rider to tell me our horse's name.
But I think the surprise this time was Trail class which everybody says is the hardest event. The juge said "Excellent" at least twice. She thought I gave Blue clear instructions on what I wanted him to do. The rider before us didn't, so Blue got frustrated.
