Sunday afternoon was a gorgeous autumn day with a light wind and a chill in the air. My friend and I took off on horseback through our vineyard and surrounding vineyards. We are in the Willamette Valley in Oregon. These are pictures from our ride.
Here is my friend on Buster as we were heading out:

This is a neighbor's vineyard:

We have horses on both sides of our property, but these horses were new to one of the properties on our lower border:

It was an unexpected surprise to see this tribute to our fall harvest in such a distant rural area:

As we returned via the back of our vineyard, we found these small clusters left behind from the harvest:

Small clusters were left throughout the vineyard. They were so delicious and sweet, we ate our way home:

And here I am on Ginger in front of another vineyard:

Buster and Ginger had never bothered our vines until my friend fed Buster some grapes. After that we had to monitor them closely to prevent them from eating the vines along with the grapes:

It really was a most perfect day. I had to share it.
