Western Saddle pad needed for a small back

My TWH gelding has such a tiny back, he needs a saddle pad thats 30x30.. All of the small that I find are 160-180.00! Did anyone else have to look around for a nice short saddle pad? Where do you find them for under 80.00?! Lol

Are you just needing a pad-pad?  No impact resistant or built up anything? You might looking at a barrel pad, with rounded edges to match the barrel saddles instead of square.  Those are usually about 29x30, but a lot of it's going to depend on what kind of pad he needs.

My arab has a short back and I needed a 30 x 30 saddle pad.  I found a wonderful one at Schneider's tack www.sstack.com.  It is the Dura-Tech original pro pad.  #00132 and sells for $37.95.  I have had it for over 5 years and it still works great.  Is easily washable and keeps the back cool in the summer.  I highly recommend it.

Schneiders has other 30 x 30 pads also and even a Dura-Tech  "stable ride non-slip, heavyweight western pad" for $39.95 which is 29 x30.
