Morning ALL,
Lucy - Glad to hear that DH got back with the "Big Rig" so you could get out and your much needed DP. Do you have any more bad weather in your forcast? Which house are you celebrating Christmas in?
Squeak - Nice to see that you made it through your bad weather too. As for your training, make sure that you take lots of notes. Will there be anyone there to answer any of your questions when the other guy is out of touch? Hey, your Christmas party is tonight!!! Have lots of fun. What did you make to bring to the pot luck?
Rem - Hot tub huh? Lucky devil. I'd have to have one that is at least under cover. I'm a big baby about being cold. So I don't think I could handle getting out of the HT even with a big heavy robe waiting for me. We probably shouldn't be talking to much about hot tubs though. rr will be wanting to see a picture of you in your bikini.
Amm- YIKES!! a snake huh? Did you ever find it? When are we getting new pictures of you riding your very beautiful boy???? I love to see you ride. And aren't you just the little criminal, taking a little excursion in the Mazda. HAHA. Hope DH get a lot of use out of his new tool set.
Buckster - So you're gonna become a winer. LOLPretty impresive that you're going to have your own label. Got any idea's of your design? They'll make nice Christmas presents when you're up a running.
rr - Just what you need is a plane. NOT. Somehow I think you'd be safer on the ground. My neighbors went in together and bought a very small plane. Put in a grass runnway right in their back yard. First time out, they crashed it into the hedge row taking off. They have a nice driving range out back now. LOL
My plans for the weekend are shopping Sat am. I still have a huge list to knock off. Sat pm, DH and I will be helping out at a VFW Christmas dinner. DH's club put it's on for them. DH is in charge of cooking the steaks outside on the huge grill. I am in charge of serving. We all have a great time. Lots of laughs and tears are shared. We are in for a big storm Sun and into Mon. They are calling for 1-2 feet of snow. I hate this crappy weather. So I will be hybernating sunday. Maybe I'll do some baking. I should go out and buy a turkey to cook. Or I could make up a big thing of chili. We have lots of venison to use up. Well, hope to see some of ya around the chat room today.

I'm not sure if ES is back to having problems or if it's the weather playing havoc with the Internet but I'm having connection problems here again. Including chat. Oh, well. Been there. Done that. Got banned.
AMM- Some strategically placed mothballs in the far corners of the barn will help to repel snakes. They don't like the "smell" of naptha (snakes smell with their tongues: Jacobson's Organ). Mice & rats don't care for it either. I doubt the horses will mess with them but put the mothballs in places they can't get access to them.
Sp- It sounds like your neighbors had a very short introduction into the world of ultra-light aviation. It also sounds like golf is better suited to their avocational capabilities. "Fore!"
rr- Led Zepplin did a reunion concert in England last week. John Bonham's son played drums. I'm surprised Jimmy Paige still has the use of his vocal chords. There's a two-seat P-51 Mustang over in Orlando during the winter that sells rides for $1500 an hour. I take donations. Over $500 and I'll send you a copy of the cockpit video. Email me for my Paypal info.
Lucy- I had '74 Vette convertible many years ago. For me, the same saying was true with Corvettes as it is with boats. The two happiest days in your life are the day you buy it and the day you sell it. It rattled like a soup can full of marbles, one headlight would pop up and "occasionally" retract again every time you hit a bump, it would swap ends without warning if you took an entrance ramp faster than 70 and I got very tired of only seeing door handles next to me in traffic. I DO like the new Aston Martin DB7, though. Donation info is the same as for the P-51 ride.
I'm re-installing electrified fence to cut down on fence rail repairs while I'm recuperating for the entire Spring season. Hopefully the "new" fence controller won't cause TV interference with the neighbors like the old one did. Wet sandy soil and common electrical grounding, etc. Maybe it will disguise itself as Christmas light "noise" for a few more weeks. Jewel already took a hit and is NOT happy. But it's Bella that needs to find it. Now, all I have to do is remember about the hot wire MYSELF! ~FH

rr- NO planes! What would happen to this thread if you never came back I wonder? And I already heard about your Blue Magnet. So you let your girlfriends drive so you could get an eyeful of the girlfriends, huh?
FH- hope everything goes well with the new fence. Yes, please remember when it's on. That's cool that you had a 'Vette. I know somebody who must have at least 5 'Vettes, if you can believe it! And I'm going to keep the mothballs idea in mind for future reference, it might come in handy (even if that advice wasn't meant for me originally, it still sounds great).
Sp- have a good time shopping and at the dinner. And at least YOU'RE getting snow! We got snow for this past Easter, and I think that it was TONS better than below 30* AND wet and rainy! (that happens every now and again even in TX).
Rem, you have a hot tub! We had one of those once when we lived in Arizona. Our house was set up high on a hill, and the tub was in the back yard. I remember best when it was Christmas. Still got kinda cool in Arizona, and we'd scurry into it. It was fun looking at all the Christmas lights while in the tub.
Squeak- You be careful out on the road.
AMM- Sounds like you and the horse had a good time.
Hello to everyone else I may've missed. ttyl!

Hello all. Sorry I missed chat. My timing is just bad, I suppose.
We're doing Christmas at the old house this year. We figure it's the last time DH's kids will get to celebrate in their childhood home. Most of my good dishes are at the Texas house, but then we're not fancy-smancy types anyway. Florida.. you're right about Corvettes tending to rattle. DH never seems to notice, so I figured I just was expecting too much of a car in its teens, or because its a Chevy....lol.
It was soooo nice to get out of the house yesterday. It turned pretty cold last night, and today, so I'm back in hermit mode today. But... with a good stockpile of Dr.Peppers! It's awful to be an addict! Tonight I may have to break out a nice bottle of Cab instead. This is my diet cheat night, afterall...

Fantastic FHM - I needed some good ideas for ridding the snakes, could only think of Ratsac to get rid of the mice but then its a risk to my doggies, not eating the ratsac but eating the mice FULL of the ratsac! So will get some mothballs today and try to place them accordingly might have to get DH to take down the stable panels to I can put them in the channels where the mice seem to nest, if I put them under the feed bins, the smell might put the boy off eating, same near the water buckets - that would appear to be a project for tomorrow!
Hi Luce addition is a shocker isnt it - cant say I have ever been able to drink Dr Pepper and it was only in Aus a short time, but I WAS, I can say that now, I was addicted to coke, but am happy to say I have been coke free for 28 dyas now! Its a miracle! oh thats the drinking coke by the way!
Ok RR you had the Porsche, I had a Jensen Interceptor V12 in the UK for a short time courtesy of kind boyfriend, are you sure its wasnt called a chick magnet rather than blue magnet! I am more of the "Big Rig" chick now - love my 4 x 4 ! Oh sent you email re the RM Williams, will get you prices etc today!
Wheres SH and SS - Hi Sprag, and everyone else, this "herd" is getting so big now.
Had a OK lesson this morning, we had one of those 2 steps forward 1 step back type days, but it came good in the end and we finnished on a positive note, we couldnt flex to the left last week now we cant possibly flex to the right! Hes such a girl sometimes! And the trot got SLOW ! I think he is just basically a lazy so and so and I cant blame him really I was stuffed as at 7am it was already 30 degrees C and as humid as anything, the boy is lazing in his yard now and I could do with about 4 hours sleep!!!!
Well we are off shopping I have 2 gift vouchers to spend yeeha! and we have to buy groceries ho hum! well try to catch you in chat later, bye for now

LOL... AMM... you're sooo funny! Dr. Pepper is an acquired taste I would imagine. I used to be a Coke fanatic when I was young though. As for the other type of coke... I would never try that, not only because of my former career, but because I'm afraid I'm like it too much...LOL! I finally went to the foal section and saw the photo you posted of your new addition. Such a cute picture! I so love babies... why can't they stay little longer?! Then they get in the adolescent stage, like Bela, and I'm thinking.... why can't he grow up...lol?! It's hard to imagine someday riding my regal-looking Friesian. Okay... in my dreams of him grown and trained well enough for a "mature" woman to ride with confidence, he has all his mane...lol!
I was watching a team-roping show yesterday (?). Anyway... one of the guys being trained had a horse he had to kick to get it going fast enough out of the box to catch up with the steer. I was thinking to myself that I needed to learn on ~his~ horse. Miss B takes off like a rocket. Way too fast for a novice like me. She's even caught a couple of experienced riders off guard with her take-off speed. But... I'm kind of over the learning to team-roping thing. And I wouldn't trade MIss B (or Bela for that matter) for an old novice-person horse.

I seemed to have doubled up on pics - not too worry - RR your RM WIlliams here are $310 Aus so what does that equate back for you - depends what you want too, but at the moment they are all the same price - I got myself some bargains today - DH got me a gift voucher so I went off to buy me some new Ariat All terrains - well it certainly pays to have little feet - I managed to get kids Ariats for $89 and still had $40 to spend so got a new halter and leadrop some new overeach boots and a new cap, plus I got a special limited edition Breyer horse for buying the Ariats, and it looks just like the boy hahaha!

AAAAAwwwwww!!!!!!!!!!!!! AMM, he is so cute, and look at the personality. You can just see it in the pics.
Well, we added to our menagerie last night. We have another ferret now. I found and ad in the local paper that was a ferret and cage real cheap. So we went and looked figuring he'd have problems of some sort. well nope, the owners had moved into a smaller house and didn't have room. So that was my anniversary present from my DH. Our 11th anniversary was yesterday.
Hopefully I'll see somebody in chat today. Later

May I cut in?
I'm new here; just joined last night in fact. Right away I was able to meet some of the folks that hang out here. Just before we quit chatting, FH gave me permission to invite myself over here. Here, I made a post of introduction: http://forum.equisearch.com/forums/p/38748/277253.aspx#277253.
I read back a few pages, so maybe I can cut in on the conversation right away.
AMM- love the baby. Wisdom is a great name for a foal. Hopefully it'll bring you good luck later.
Lucy- You have to be a VERY good rider to be able to train and stay on a horse that's been taught to do that. And I'm glad that you're all stocked up on Dr. Pepper now. Personally I like Sprite, but my sister is pretty addicted to DP so I understand how you feel.
FH- Thanks for the nice chat we had last night. It made me feel very welcome here. And that was good advice you gave to AMM, btw.
rr- PLANES!!! That would be a DREAM COME TRUE just to be able to fly one.
jg- Ferrets are lots of fun to own. Me and my sister had one when we were younger, and since we weren't so busy back then we were better able to keep up with it, lol.
Hello to everyone else! Hopefully I'll pass the test and be allowed to come here. I'm going to go browse the forum now.

AMM- Thanks for the piccies of your new boy. He's getting so big! In no time you should be able to start riding him .
jg- Ferrets! What fun!
Greetings to everyone else. Where's SS?

Re: Back to Fun and Games
Hi everyone, I just typed a big long post (very interesting, I might add), and the dang thing disappeared. I give up. I'll try again later. hope ya'll are well.
Welcome CC! (I want to call you CC Ryder, but since that is too close to rr's name and might expose you to comments about ice fishing, etc.... I won't).
PS: The only test to being here is that you can dish it out and also take it when it's dished right back at ya.

Re: Back to Fun and Games
Welcome CCMustang! I used to fish for catfish! But fly fishing for trout is my favorite...fly fishing for Black Bass is really fun too! Ange(Amm) I just wanted you to call the RMWilliams and find out why they don't answer emails! The boots are listed in the $459US range...I also was interested in their stock yard version which was $200 or so...rr But that's alot of money if the boot arrives and doesn't fit! rrdinner party this evening...
