SS, spill the beans on AMM's news!!!!!  Come on, if you really care!  Oh wait, that may be the wrong approach with this group.  We're going to start speculating soon.

OK, lets just start speculating. I'll start. Then others can continue on with the story. She won't be able to take it and will tell us the truth sooner or later. Wink

The other night Amm was out riding her wonderful boy when she heard a rustling in the bushes next to the ring. Out jumped a kangaroo. But Amm and her wonderful boy took it all in stride and never missed a beat.........

decided she was much too good for dressage and should load her boy onto a float and head to the nearest eventing meet.  However Redsox got wind of this diabolical situation and immedialtey decried the fact that AMM was using both a bit and a saddle and riding for longer than 15 minuts.  Further more AMM is a firm believer that the human is in charge of the horse which caused.....

rr - it sounds like maybe, possibly, you're growing up?  That little adventure sounds like a good mix of the younger, impetuous rr, tossed in with a little of the "maybe we should think this through" reaction from the less young rr.  Either way, I'm glad the outcome was better than the last time!

Gee, thanks Sheriff, so you're not going to lock me up this time?

Back handed compliment if I ever saw one.  Me, "possibly growing up?"

Just put on the cuffs and let's be done with it...

No, not this time, rr.  It seems like you were able to keep yourself under control.  I, however, would have jumped at the chance to ride Incarna!

Does Dom know about your handcuff fetish?  Hmm

    Re: Boxing Day(again)

Ahahahahaha! I truly appreciate all your "Assumptions"  but we havent seen a Kanga for a while now and I dont own handcuffs!

Ok my big news is purely self indulgent - I am an extremely proud horse breeder!!!

The very special mare I lost last year had a wonderful little colt back in 2000 - in fact he was born on my sisters birthday and Melbourne Cup Day - his name is MOORAH PARK MICKERBY - or Mickey for short - a registered part bred arabian although to look at him you would think he was purebred.  He never really liked going to shows or being shown as a youngster and I remember one particular championships he loved the stable so much he refused to leave it and it took us a further 6 hours to get him back on the float to go home!

So this not so little man as he stands close to 16 hh was destined to become a show jumping pony for my daughter he was sent away to be broken in and whilst he was very quiet it was thought he might be too much for the DD so it was decided as I had the boy and his mum that he would be sold - and so he was to a very nice couple who dabbled in Endurance.

Yesterday that same couple rang me to tell me Mickey had qualified for the WORLD ENDURANCE CHAMPIONSHIPS to be run in Malaysia - and that he is Currently ranked 260 in THE WORLD - so I am the breeder of one very talented FEI WORLD RANKED ENDURANCE HORSE.

I am very proud of him and his achievements and if you google his name you too can see some of his achievements and if you google "Endurance - beginner to advanced vol 4 " you will see a write up about him and some pictures.

I have emailed some pictures to SS so maybe she can post them as my computer wouldnt let me - but THAT my firends is my big news

Sp - I am so sorry to read about your pony - I do hope it is a happy outcome for you both! I will keep my fingers crossed.

    Speculating on AMM's news

Out of all this gibberish so far I'd have to say Remmer, ever so remotely, has come closest to what it's all about. ~FH

    Re: Dominique...

... is driving the tractor!  I shamed her into getting up there and trying(or doing what I'm doing, distributing the oily 2meter20 fence posts out of the benne!)  She chose the tractor...It's really a family affair too.  William lays down a 3meter spacer bar in between the posts as Mom advaces slowly with the tractor and aging dad loads and distributes fence posts...

Right out of "Little House on the Prarie..."

Had to be noted.  Team efforts around here are rare!  I even had William take a picture of it!

Yeah yeah yeah - so where is the picture to prove it!! ?? If this keeps up you may start to like Dominique after all.Surprise Wink

And speaking of family team efforts - oh never mind - let's not - just get school over with for the year better yesterday than today!!  Homework  sucks !!

And AMM, I can't find any pictures of Mickerby no matter what I google - or at least I don't find pictures that identify him as such,

    Re: Vanny News

Hey guys, I'm posting this for SP.

Everyone is so great and supportive. It means the world to me. I was pleasantly surprised to talk to FH on the phone. BTW, he sounds just like he looks!! LOL. He took his own personal time to try to get me information and actually call me to let me know!!!! Not many people would do such a thing. But I couldn’t afford the surgery if it were available. He told me that if it were his horse he’d wait it out and see if he could be manageable with pain meds. But what would life that have been for Vanny? I promised that horse that I would always do what was best for him and not me.

I decided that the best for Vanny and not me, was that he should be put down. We were all in agreeance (is that a real word?)  that it was more than likely neurological damage from some sort of trauma.

The other vet came out and told me that she has seen 3 other cases like this, 2 his age, 1 a young filly. The 2 his age were later put down after a while and the filly recuperated but she was not as bad as Vanny and she was much younger. So I’d rather let him go when he was not in pain than to just wait and put him at risk of other injuries and pain. And she said that if it were her horse, she’d put him down without hesitation. She was pretty certain that since there was no improvement with him holding weight in the 4 days, that he’d never be able to. And I just don’t have the funds for further testing. So he will be buried in the back pasture in his favorite spot. I have the mane and tail for use later. It will be so hard going to the barn and not seeing him anymore.
