Solo, my heart goes out to you right now.  What a tough but humane decision you have made.  I love animals but I feel there comes a time as their care givers that we have to make this hard decision.  We are here for you to chat with, about almost anything as we have proven in chat lately!  Take care!

Thank you, Jerri!  Is it terrible that when I see her lying down, I hope that she will just quietly die in her sleep because that would be easier?  *sigh*  She giving me the eyes right now, I am off to scratch those ears that have just the perfect amount of flop!

Great weeked! Got to ride. Oh how wonderful. Things are still a bit on the muddy side so my ride was some what limited but I made do with what I had. Glis was feeling frisky for sure. One spot near the spooky gas house, she half reared, half bucked, jumped sideways and really wanted to just run down the laneway. HAHA, shes so much fun, I love her. I made her behave, calm down and did a bunch of shoulders in going down the path instead. She pouted but calmed down and walked after that. The woods were slippery so I didn't get to climb too many hills. Found a field to let Glis run that wasn't too muddy. She was a sweaty mess by the time we got home. What a great day. Big Smile

     Field we ran in.

this is where we come down to get into the woods

     The woods

Glis told me no way was she climbing that hill. LOL. Alot steaper that it looks.

     My sweaty girl.

    Great report Spragueme.

I'm lucky in that our barn owner has opened up some trails through the woods in the adjoining property. It looks very similar to the woods in your photos.  I took Annapolis out on Sunday and Eric came with us on foot. When we turned for home, Eric had to keep jogging to keep up, lol!  There were some cows out there too, which made it kind of interesting. Annapolis did a bit of snorting and prancing, but was pretty well behaved.

I thank my lucky stars every time I'm able to ride Annapolis.  It was a great weekend for  a ride.

    Shopping Spree!

Last night was the annual HUGE tack sale - DD didn't have time to go due to homework overload so I went by myself and think I was successful.  I got most of what I was looking for - and as soon as this big test is past DD can try eveything on and see how I did.  I found a black jacket (her first color choice) for summer shows for $5 - if it doesn't fit her who wants it? And a couple show shirts to go go with it.  The crowd was big as always but I was a woman on a mission and I got 'er done.  I wanted a stainless steel shedder - but no luck there.

So today it is back to the boring grocery and ordinary shopping.  And if it ever stops raining and the ground dries up maybe it will be riding time.  :)

FML.  After a whole day of fighting back pain, on the way home, my truck gave the dreaded "death wobble."  Which means I prolly have shot bushings somewhere.  And the one person who can help me work on it (because my lumpy driveway is impossible)-- not answering his phone.  I give up!

Woohoo, replying to myself doesn't make me feel like a dork AT ALL!  Update:  truck blew out a tie rod end.  Waiting for wrecker this morning to take it to Ray -- who I will forgive for calling me "sugar" because he fixes my *** for cheap.  At least USRider is awesome; when I called them for the wrecker, as always, the first words out of their mouth are, "USRider, are you and your horses safe?"  I heart them.  They will have fun finding me a wrecker this morning -- it is raining ice pellets and Raleigh residents tend to lose all semblance of sanity when faced with precipitation.

    Re: The Riv

I was just waiting for the 'death wobble' explanation, Solo. I was kinda thinking you were hinting at a tie rod end or upper control arm failure. But on your "new" truck? Suggestion: get BOTH sides replaced and have the ball joints closely inspected, too. In fact, I'd look at everything in the suspension system, including the wheel bearings and differential lubrication (rear end gears) since it looks like the previous owner had little concern for what was happening to "the greasy side of the truck." Tie rod failure while towing a horse... that was a close one! Glad you're OK! ~FH
