    Re: Coffee time?

Congrats, JG (boobies)!  And FH(trailer), and SH(graduations), and Solo(swimming again).

Jac is doing a little better (thanks for asking!) and being ridden at a walk.  Time will tell if the shoes help enough.  Meanwhile I decided to keep him in Phoenix so the vet can monitor him carefully.

Sorry I have been gone so much.  We spent a week in North Carolina with dh's family.  It was so, so pretty.  Visited the Biltmore and Carl Sandburgs house and hiked Chimney rock.  Went out on a lake and had great time.  Sister-in-law killed a copperhead that her dachsund found, excting!  Lucky dog did not get bit.

I have been swamped since we have been back, dd had orientation at her school, lots of housework, etc to catch up on and now I am getting ready to head to Alaska on Monday.  We are going whale watching, bear hunting (photos only) and kayaking.  I am excited about this one!  Anyway, I hope to catch some of you here before I head off into the wilderness.  Love you all!

So, rc, you are already in trouble for not visiting me and now you are in MORE trouble because you come and kill our wildlife and one of my favourite snakes at that!!!  I am just not sure if I can talk to you any more....

    Reinchick--
I spent most of my 50+ years living in Alaska. My family still has air taxi services based in Anchorage and Talkeetna, and they fly a number of tourists out for flightseeing trips every summer. Who are you going with for the whale/bear watching? I'm curious if it's with my family business.

Well seeing a little improvement is always good RC. I have everything I can, crossed for you and Jac. I may have to put some braids in my hair too just for good measure. LOL. Oh and totally jealous of you and your fabulous vacations. I am waiting for you to adopt me.

    Re: Coffee time?

Lol, Solo.  I did not kill the snake! Sister in law did, and I have some awesome pics of a water snake we found in their pond, which we did not kill.  I plead innocence.

48, we are going whale watching with Harv and Marv in Juneau and the bear watch is at Icy Strait Point with Teckk Outfitters.  We are kayaking Orca Cove with Southeast Sea Kayaks in Ketchikan.  We though about doing a floatplane tour but opted to kayak instead.  I still have no plans for Skagway, any suggestions?

And thank you, Sp, for all the crossing!  It must be working!

    RC--
You will be going to Southeastern Alaska, the only part of Alaska of which I know little. Alaska is HUGE: a map of AK can be laid over a map of the US and the ends of AK touch both US coasts. Much bigger than TX.

So, sorry, no info on southeastern AK. Southeastern AK is quite wet, though, so make sure you have rain gear with you. That part of AK is considered a temperate rain forest. Make sure you have plenty of room in your digital camera's memory b/c you will be astounded by what you see. That I DO know about southeastern AK. :)

This is what My 4H kids and I did today.  It was kind of comical to see all the horse and pony kids enamored with the drafts.

Went camping Saturday night, then was out to the wee hours this morning watching fireworks.  I ended up taking a 3 hour nap today.

I"m going to be so busy for the next 2 weeks that I can't wait till my sugery so I HAVE to take some down time. lol

    23 days!!!!!!!

rofl FH.. I think for once he's not checking out the girl.  If you look behind the horses you can see a pair of legs.  He was asking all sorts of questions of the owner of the horses and the helper.  Of course after we left he says "we should get a pair of them mom so we have driving horses".  I told him it was out of the question cause they wouldn't even fit in the barn lol

Send some good thoughts to a friend in need...

I really hope she won't mind me posting this, but she put it on facebook, so I will hope for forgiveness.  Jerri just lost her guide dog, Dalen, and he was only about 4 or 5.  I don't know what happened, but this has come on top of her horrific trailer accident last month.  So whatever good karma you have, please send her way, I know she can use it!  I know some of you read about it already, but I know not everyone's on facebook.
