I spent the morning with Al at the trainer's for his first 30 days completion celebration and video'd the 45 minute training session. It's edited down to about 12 minutes here: http://youtu.be/iYjEXlR_ueY

The coughing is from an allergy to certain tree pollens and he's getting antibiotic for it. Al is still quite nervous but he's TRYING very hard and NOT reverting to his old paranoia. Still a long way to go. But he's already come a long way considering the baggage he has to overcome. My training partner Clint Sanders is doing a great job!

Al is gonna make it! WHEW!!! ~FH

HAHA, how many times have you watched the video??? I'd be watching it all day long if I were you.

LOL... The master video is 35 minutes long. And I've watched it a lot, Sp. In fact, I re-edited the first Youtube 12 minute version to include two second camera (crappy eye glass video camera) close ups spotlighting the hobbling process and me rubbing Al's sensitive ears while he has a saddle and rider. In the second close up, if you pause the video at the 10:04 mark while viewing in full screen, you can see how calm Al's eye is. That by itself is a remarkable change that shows how well he is accepting the training. Here's the link:

I won't be going back to see him until after the New Year unless Clint needs a second rider to introduce Al to trail riding if he's ready before then (doubtful). So no more video for awhile. ~FH

From all of the girls at 48 North Farm, Merry Christmas! Juno is healed from her coffin bone surgery, Havannah is healed from the LR leg-through-the-stall-bars incident, Athene is becoming a pleasant "working girl", and Rosie and Mocha the donkeys are learning to "join up". So, life is good.

I hope 2012 will be a fun and prosperous year for you!

had a few extra pennies this week and bought a real antenna!!! Woot. The box works great now. We get a bunch of channels!!! Thanks again!!!
