Hi, and welcome to the forum Wink

I'm not quite sure what you mean with this post... If unicorns were real, sure I'd love to see one, but no one has ever proven that they are real... They are a mythical creature, no? I'm not trying to be mean, though Wink However there are lots of adults and not very many younger kids on here (there are quite a few teens, too) So I don't think you will get too many positive replies here Stick out tounge I'm just trying to help out. But I get what you mean, they are different than horses... Lots of them seem to have wings in the drawings and stories!

    oh..
I apologize if i came off too childish at first hehe.
Yes I agree that there existence hasnt been proven, but on the other side, it cant be disproven either. And believing in things makes the world a bit more fun^^

Someone been reading a bit too much Harry Potter, eh? Stick out tounge Just kidding! I indulge in reading such fanfastical adventures on occasion as well.

If unicorn did/do exist, they have one heck of a way to dispose of their bones after death. I guess it all goes back to that magical bit. Unicorns and pegasi are quite cool-looking in the movies.

You might be interested in the book Unicorns I Have Known by Robert Vavra. Wonderful photos of Unicorns in the wild. You can find copies here, http://www.abebooks.com/ starting at $50 and up. It is a beautiful book. You could also ask your library if they can borrow a copy from another library if they don't have it.

Actually the Romans made unicorns. They started with goats and used a mechanism to pull their horns together slowly and twist them as they grew. Then when the next step was to try it on cows. It worked but not as well. They tried transplanting horns to horses but they either wouldn't take or caused the skull bones to give. So there really were unicorns once, they just weren't horses. Grin

    Unicorns are beautiful creatures Smile

A funny side note, a couple years ago I took two of my minis to Petsmart (I think it was for the Halloween party?). A little boy saw Cocoa and I heard him say, "look mom, a unicorn!" Wink

Re: so what do you think of unicorns?

LOL I don't think the BO at my last stable will mind me posting this.....

She received this email a while back in response to one of her mares for sale:

I'll tell you what I'm looking for, and that might help. She looks good!
First off, Arabians, Andalusians and Lippizans are direct line relatives of the Unicorns of about 50,000 years ago. All three of them have black babies that gray with age, eventually to white. I was the woman responsible for them loosing their horns. I was a genetic engineer in Atlantean times, for humans and horses. So you might say I was responsible for the breed horse. They use to be Unicorns.
Now I want to bring back the breed to this planet. In effect, make Unicorns again. Andalusians are still throwing out foals with small horns when born. They fall off. So they are the closest.
But I have a Unicorn stallion coming to this planet, and I'm going to breed him to the mares that I find here. His name is Tonsa. They aren't extinct on other planets. And I have relatives who have kept them going so they can come back here.
THAT is why I picked out Silver Shadow, to be one of the mares to start the Unicorns again. SHE IS PERFECT. So you name your price, and I'll get it. I'll go up to $100,000 for her. But this other one you have shown me is good also. What is her breeding? Tamier is beautiful as well.
How about we consider co-owning Silver Shadow? I can send you sperm for her, and she can kick out the babies where she is. Oh, also, if I take her up to the starship, she can get rejuvenated, so that she is physically young again. That would make her live longer. Contrary to popular opinion these days, Unicorns are NOT inheritantly immortal. They live the normal 20 - 35 years that horses do, unless they are rejuvenated, as they were done in Atlantean times.
What is going to happen is this. They Genetisists on the starship are going to help me make these mares Unicorns again, but injecting them with DNA from their relatives, the Current Unicorns. By doing this, within a month, they should have their DNA back intact and start growing a horn again. The DNA is easier to replace than it is to remove. So they tell me. Do you want Shadow to be in the program? You can keep her there. Think about it.
It takes two weeks of injections, then it takes hold and they are Unicorns again.

Re: so what do you think of unicorns?

Okkkkk, thats kinda weird?!?! Whoever wrote that message must have tried to stick a horn on their forehead, resulting in a crack in their head. Stick out tounge

That is probably the weirdest thing i have ever heard, maybe it was some people pulling a prank or something.

hope that "alien" can bring back the unicorns!

Also, can you ask her if i can rejuvinate Cayenne when hes old? Wink

If anyone would like a sig, just PM me.

O...M...G ROFLMAO!!!! Somebody seriously SENT that as a response for a horse for sale?! They have GOT to be kidding. If they actually believe themselves, I would have sold them my horse for $100,000. I wonder if they would pay in alien money??? Laugh Smile What sort of a vet check do you do on a unicorn? I am dying to know!
I don't drink coffee sir. I don't drink any hot liquids. That's the devil's temperature.
