    SALEM -- Crews on horseback rescued the Portland man injured during a hunting trip Friday on Mt. Jefferson.

    Rescue personnel reached Mike McLaughlin Saturday. After riding more than four hours on horseback out of the Mt. Jefferson Wilderness, he was reunited with family and taken to the Redmond City Hospital.

    Oops that blew up ... go figure!!

    i'm glad he was rescued.  makes for a good story in his life.

    unfortunately, as some of us know, you get older and you don't have to do much to wreck yourself.  heck, i've stepped funny in a parking lot and had to limp back to my truck.

    I suppose the question that needs to be asked is how did they get four hours in without a horse. The son in law hiked 29 miles. Could he have not rented a horse somewhere if they were available for the rescuer personnel. Interesting story nevertheless.
