    cavallo easy boots

has anyone used easy boots or any other boots on a regular basis?  i bought some boots on saturday.  i took a print of my horses hooves with me and slid them into the boots. it fit into a size 2, but, the rep said i should get a size 3, that there should be room for the hoof to expand.  but, they seem larger that i would have thought.  i can just get my pinky down between the hoof and the boot, but, the top of the boot seems too large.  i expected it to fit snug right around his pastern but it doesn't.

they seem a bit sloppy, kind of like wearing gumboots, but, they don't twist around at all.  i had him trot and canter in them and while he wasn't crazy about the first time wearing them, they basically stayed in place.

also, when i took them off, there was a bit of gravel from the arena sitting in the hollow above the bulb of his hoof, so, then i'm wondering if he might get blisters of something from gravel sitting in there.

i know i can't return these as we used them in a wet ring, but, i don't want to waste money on a size 2 if this is the way they're supposed to fit.

    opinions anyone.

I have used those in the pasty and found that they did rub my horses raw after several uses i now use the new renegades that i love they open in the back as the horse wealks to let any traped stuff fall out of the boot, fit great , are super easy to put on and take off, dont rub at all and come in lots of cool colors. Check out the renegade site.

I use the EasyBoot Epics, not the Cavallos.  They fit VERY snugly -- like I need a screwdriver or a hoofpick to get them off.  If things are slopping around, I would think that would rub!

my neighbor has loaned me a pair of easyboot epics to try on.  i think they'll be too small to get on, but, i'll give it a shot.  it's nice to try before you buy.

i don't mind having the cavallos around, even if i don't ride in them, cuz, they would be handy if you ever need them for lameness issues, like an abcess or something like that.
