Looking for some who may know what this is.

My buddy Beth needs help with her horse Faran.  I am piecing together fb posts.  If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.

I went out to feed him one morning and it was there. I took him to the vet and he checked everything he could think of teeth, x-rays, ultrsound and nothing shows up.

Yeah we thought of the sting thing too. And yes it was just over night. I has been there for over a two months now. My vet says if he is eating good and I can still ride him not to worry and I might not except that it keeps getting bigger. I am afraid is will start to affect his eye or something if it keeps growing. He was on dex for ten days and he had two 10 series of antibiotics already.

The picture link does not appear to work.  From what you describe I might offer my experience with a mysterious hard bump that appeared on my 3 year old - golf ball size right at the halter nose band area.  Turned out to be an osteoma...which did show up on radiographs.  These I was told by the vet hospital are rather common and have no explanation as to why they appear. It grew rather rapidly.  It was surgically removed w/o complications.  In your case, is it possible to get a second opinion from another vet?  I love my vets...but they do not all have the same level of expertise in all things. Good luck.
