    February cover photo Dressage Today

    Could someone clarify why the rider in the cover photo is holding the right curb rein in her left hand?

    That is another style of holding reins on a double: right bridoon rein the right hand; left curb, right curb and left bridoon in the left hand. I believe the justification for that is that you don't need much pressure on the curb reins so they can both be held in the non-dominant hand. Makes sense to me.
