    Which Equestrian Discipline or Event?

If you had the chance to participate in a different equestrian discipline or event, other than the one you currently participate in, what would it be and why?

I'd like to try Western, since I've always ridden English and have only sat in a western saddle once or twice. Perhaps a combination of the two with Western dressage!

What would you like to try?

I'd love to try reining, though roping and cutting is something I'd also like to give a whirl. Currently I'm just a horse trainer who teaches horses respect, control and simple maneuvers. But if I ever got a chance to compete I'd love to do reining! My favorite Western sport ever.... :)

I'd like to event. When I got Juno in 2003 I was going to jump her as well as do dressage--at the time I didn't really know that dressage and jumping was eventing, duh--and I wanted to do dressage and jumping separately. But I remembered that discretion is the better part of valor and I shelved the jumping. I've had one serious brain injury, and another one, even a light one, would kill me. So the only "jumping" I do is going over cavaletti. :D

I had forgotten about your injury Megan.  Yes, you're probably very wise to stick with dressage.  Cavaletti can be fun though Smile
