Jayne, if you go, stay here - http://www.deltahotels.com/hotels/hotels.php?hotelId=30 It's alittle bit different than when I used to go as a kid (it was owned by Canadian Pacific Hotels back then), but it still looks basically the same. The great thing is that you can climb a 10,000 ft mountain, see moose and bears, go on a trail ride, go white water rafting, etc....and then go back to the hotel, sit in the hot-tub for a while, eat a gourmet meal, and sleep in a comfy bed. Definitely my idea of a perfect vacation!

Oh, and if you have a husband who loves golf, they have three courses there designed by some super-famous golf course designer...Palmer someone or Trent...or Jones....clearly, I don't know golf.

Hmmmm... wonder if my non-riding husband would be up to that? I know my parents (neither of whom had ridden before) took a trail ride in Estes Park, Colorado and my dad *still* brags about that like he's John Wayne. I think I'll have to start campaigning for our vacation next year :)

Thanks : ). A lot of the times Buddy can look thick if I haven't brushed him, and he's just a chunk all around. I really do think he's either pure or mostly Belgian.

I love the fur - Mom doesn't! We might be taking him to a groomer soon.

Oh, Buddy is cute!! You gotta love all that hair. If he's not a pure belgian, he's got to be a mix! He's a lot heftier than Shauni, but then Shauni's dad was a very thick boy.

Beautiful horse and pictures. Nova looks great under an English saddle and I bet riding in the mountains was really fun.

Just wondering: in the "weenie creek," picture, is that your dog? What breed is it? I looked at the picture and thought for a second my dog Buddy was in it, they look very similiar.

Oh Jessi, thank you! You have the most gorgeous horses, so for you to think Nova is, is a great compliment! I know, I keep looking at those pictures of him in the english saddle and am just so happy! :) He sure does look good going english. And haha, Nova also thinks that anything wet that he should walk through is one of the 7 deadly sins! I was honestly very surprised about how well he went through the water/mud. I guess maybe he figured that if he can drink from it, it won't kill him.

Just want to add a quick update. I jumped Nova today! (Sorry, no pictures.) We started off with trot poles, and ended up with a small jump about 18inches. And the best part is he didn't even fall over it! Haha. He was cantering at it nice and forward and was really willing to go over it. I'm pretty happy with him right now! Hopefully I can get some pictures of us soon (though I'm sure I look like poop).

Nova looks great in an english saddle. It looks like you had a blast on your trail ride. Nova is very brave to go through that water. My mare doesn't care much for water. Even when it rains, she hides under her shelter until it stops. Glad Nova took such good care of you. He is growing into a lovely horse.
