Thanks! I know, I'm counting down the days!!! Unfortunately, Arizen retained a very small part of the placenta after birth, and now she has an infection. Nothing major, but we have to wait until it is clear to begin the embryo transfers. So, I have to wait until that is all finished before I can start lunging and working with her in the pasture while she's hanging out with the baby.

But I've been visiting her every day, and she is nice and dirty from rolling around in the round pen. The baby is SO cute. He is so curious, and not afraid of people at all. He had about 5 people there at his birth, same as Rizzie's last baby, so he is just super sweet. He still tries to act like he's so grown up. I just love him!

I still haven't heard if my trainer decided on a name. I didn't realize that the "I" rule only applied to colts. We've been naming the girls with "I" too. I wonder if my trainer knows about that...

Interesting, I've mostly delt with QH and Paints, so the AWB is all new to me. It'll stilll be a while before I even decide if I will breed my mare, but I'd deffinately like to meet artbeat. I've always wanted a huge horse, and I'm sure that's what he'd produce. Although I may be selling my mare I came across something that is actually pleasure bred, but I'm not sure if I could even stand to sell my baby. Again the baby is gorgeous!!

American Warmblood Registry:

NAMING OF THE HORSE

No horse shall be registered under a name, which has already been registered in the books of the American

Warmblood Registry. Full male siblings, however, may use duplicate names with the appropriate ordinal number (i.e.,

Pagan’sRebel I, II, etc.) Male offspring should be named such that the first letter of the name is the same as the first

letter of the sire’s name.

The names submitted for registration shall be limited to names containing no more than 18 digits, including spaces,

dashes, and commas. Names in any language are acceptable, although the American Warmblood Registry

encourages American names. The owner will be permitted to submit three name choices on the application for

registration. Owners are advised that any communication to the American Warmblood Registry with regard to a

registered horse should refer to the horse by its registered name, even though the horse may also be known by

another name.

I sent my trainer a list with a bunch of the names you guys made up, and she still has yet to decide. But, she said she REALLY liked a lot of them, so maybe she'll use them on some of the other babies, too. As soon as I know what she ends up choosing, I'll let you all know.

You know, Heather, I'm really not sure why the names have to start with "I." Must be some sort of rule or something. I'd have to ask my trainer. I really don't know all the ins and outs on breeding and registries and all that stuff yet. :)

Arizen's colt is SO cute. My trainer says that he acts like a grown up horse already. She said she's never had a foal that was so calmly curious on his first day outside. At only a couple days old, he was sticking his head between the fence checking things out on his very first day outside. lol. I've watched him in his stall, and he's already trying to munch on hay and eat grain (even though he just spits it back out because he has no teeth yet) like he's saying "Isn't this what grown-ups do?" lol. And he has the CUTEST little three-beat canter already. I just love him! I have to keep telling myself that I'm not in the market for a foal! We're not sure yet which of the foals she's going to market now and which she is going to keep to train and sell when they're older. I keep hoping she'll keep one of Arizen's so that I can buy it in 5 years. haha.

Yes, Artbeat's foals can be double registered with the AWR and AQHA. On bottom of his webpage, it says what his foals are eligible for. Here is the link again: http://www.oewequinecenter.com/artbeat.html

I definitely think you should come check him out! Just give Marie a call or email her, and she should be able to set up a time to show him to you and give you all the information you need! WOW Nicole, Arizen's colt turned out impeccable!!!! It actually makes me want to check out Indian artbeat even more!! Actually I'm gunna be up in that area this weekend, hmmmm maybe my mom will agree to let me go take a look at him . Anyway he is absolutely gorgeous!! I've got some questons though, why does his name have to start with an "I" for the AWB registry? Also can Indian Artbeat's babies be reg. QH?
