He loves them. I believe he has an assortment of warmblood types and as far as I know, he jumps. I know he competes heavily but whether he does anything else besides jump, I'm not really certain. I just know his farm is pretty big up here but not in my realm of interest, lol!

Re: Cleveland Bay?

Cleveland Bay's were originally bred as a classical carriage horse...so, if that is what you want, then a Cleveland Bay will be a good choice...

Re: Cleveland Bay?

Thanks for that website!

I had no idea they were rarer (don't think that's a word!) than the pandas and leopards!

Re: Cleveland Bay?

Quote:

I heard that the Queen of England's cart horses were Cleveland Bays.

I believe that is correct. The Queen is a patron of the Cleveland Bay Society and has been very active in promoting the breed. Her stallion, Mulgrave Supreme, was practically a household name in England and his offspring were successful in many equestrian fields.

The Cleveland Bay is still listed as "critically endangered"

Check out the stats on this page -- http://www.bayhavenfarm.com/Cleveland_Bay_breed.htm

There are less Cleveland Bays than there are snow leopards or giant pandas!

Re: Cleveland Bay?

Yeah, I considered that. So that is probably why they are pricey.
