I've been thinking about changing Duke's registered name, "Lil Howdy Silver". I dont like the way it sounds. Plus if we perhaps do well showing this year showing to have a differnt name than 'Lil Howdy Silver' said over the PA at a show,( Ha! I guess we all should have goals right!)

But anyway, what would you guys suggest for registered names?? Here's his pedigree and a picture of him.

I have a Morgan and I don't really like her registered name. I talked to the registry and they said that unless I am entering breed shows or entering her scores from open shows for breed points, I don't need to show under her registered name. I don't know what all the registries have to say, but I don't think anyone cares as long as it's not breed specific shows.

I know it doesnt matter for open shows and such, but I may get brave and venture into a AQHA show later this year, definitly next year.

I may be a noob, but naming that horse Silver has got to be confusing. Let's see - looks like rippling chest muscles to me - How about Arnold's Big Chestnut?

Have you checked with the registry to see if you can change it? Not all will allow changes.

If he's AQHA and never been shown, they will.. but it will cost you $50!

Duke is beautiful. Maybe he should be called......BelongstoGina....lol. Ok maybe not but I like it. How tall is he? What classes will you be showing him in?

He's 14.3, we will be doing halter, showmanship, and MAYBE some walk trot, but that will be more schooling for us more than showing. at least the first few. No canter classes yet for us, he's still pretty fast cantering, we would look like the Indy 500 out there compared to the other WP horses.

How do I check to see if a name is taken? I was on the AQHA site earlier, and didnt seen anything about it, nor could I find the form to change his name, found the price list of things, but no form for it.
