    found a jog cart

I've been contemplating teaching Anke, my Halfinger, to drive. I found a jog cart, horse, haflinger size ez entry, with rubber tires and snow runners for $550. I don't have any experience driving horses, but Anke is very laid back and open to anything.

    Is this worth pursuing?

Driving is alot of fun but can also be dangerous. (see caution post for my latest wreck story). Make sure the tires are not weather checked so you have a blowout. Find some help, take it slow, join a driving club for more support and people to drive with. If you use the runners, make sure they can not spin all the way around if you hit a snow drift. I have chains on mine that connect the runner to the body of the cart for this purpose. Most runners do not come with this so you may need to have a welder weld a length of chain to the tips of the runners. you can then put a clip on the other end to clip to the cart.

I enjoy driving, and have driven the short horses for 25 years. I also drive one of my haflingers.
