    This is SO cute!!!

There is a horse at the barn where my daughter takes lessons. Well, today we went to give him a ginger snap and the owner goes "you have got to see what he does when he gets ginger snaps". So, we give it to him and all of a sudden he starts drooling and he pretty much goes into a trance! He's sucking on the ginger snap the entire time! His eyes are closed and his head drops downs and he just stands there sucking. He stood there for over 10 minutes. It was the cutest thing in the world!!! Tell us about the cute things your horses do. I'd tell you about the cute things OUR horse does but that would take all night because everything she does is cute!!!!! Grin

That is really cute! He must really love them! Foxy likes to paw the ground when he scents treats nearby. Smile

Yep, me too. Grin One of the cutest is when I'm filling up her water trough, she will take the end of the hose in her mouth, tip her head up and guzzle! Drop the hose, take a few breaths, then do it again. If it's really hot, she will finish her drink, then move the hose in her mouth to where it is comming out the other side, and swing it back and forth and give herself a bath. Then put it down and pick it up on the other side for a bath on other side. Smile She would happily give me a bath too, but I get out of reach!

When I first went to try out my horse at the sale barn, I gave him one of the big red juicy apples and he took the whole thing!!!!! Shocked I was trying to get it out(this was the first time ive ever seen him) so i wouldn't choke him. Then he made this funny face and i though he was choking but then i realized he was just sucking on all the juice!!! Laugh i started laughing so hard my dad had to come to make sure i was o.k. Wink

that's so cute. my favorite horse used to love carrots, but something about the bag scared him. he was really reliable, so his spooks were never big, just kind of skittering to the other side of the aisle. but as soon as he saw what was in the bag, he would cautiously creep back over and remain as far back as he could while still nuzzling my hands looking for treats.

The ginger snap thing does sound incredibly cute! Cassady when you walk away from her (foal) she starts whinying at you until you come back, she'll do it for a good half hour, it sounds heart breaking but so cute at the same time. lol

This wasn't my horse (wish she was though!) but still very cute. At Equine Affair in Columbus this year, my step daughter and I saw the gypsy vanner mare The Gypsy Queen. This horse goes ga-ga for bread. They brought her a half loaf and she sticks out her tongue and sucks on it until she gets her bread. It makes a big slurpy sound while she's doing it.
Horse... If God made anything more beautiful he kept it for himself.

Windsor makes faces at me. He lowers his head and stretches the corners of his mouth back and kind of chews, like a foal does to show submission to an older horse. He does this when waiting for his morning feed (but only the morning feed, not the other two) and when he feels like he's not getting attention. I've also seen him do a similar face when he's nervous (at horse shows) or when he thinks he's in trouble (he's very sensitive to my moods and knows when I'm mad at him without me even doing anything!). I call it his 'baby face' or 'poor me' expression!
