Looks like a close-contact to me. What brand is it? It looks like a nice saddle.

It's a CC. Flatter seat, no knee roll(although not all CC are with out knee rolls, most AP's have knee rolls, but not all) and more forward flap.

i'm not sure what kind it is- i looked under the flap and there is a name but its worn off- all it say's is "COMPETITOR" and then some words that are mostly worn off so i cant read them, then "MADE IN ARGENTINA". thats it.

It looks like a close-contact to me from the photos. Did you just buy it?

Pretty sure its a Close Contact because there is hardly any knee rolls. Is it an old saddle? I'm a huge, huge fan of those b/c there's hardly any padding on them. Grin

yup, I would agree that it is a close contact (older saddle) very nice with very little padding. I know a LOT of older horse folk who REALLY like those saddles with little padding. To be honest, I do too. They really let you feel the horse under you, and you develop a nice, independent seat riding in them (because you can't grip with your knees as much as with the highly padded contemporary saddles). Having said that, I have ridden cross country with both a close contact (Crosby Prix de Nations) and a forward seat cross country / show jumping specific saddle (Clif Barnsby Esprit), and I like the security of the Barnsby for cross country galloping. You scored on that saddle though - congrats!

yup- sure was a good deal, and i also like the "no padding" thing, it sure does let you feel the horse better! it is ANCIENT i'm pretty sure of that anyways! but i love it already!(i have hardly ridden in it tho)!! well thanks SO much for all your help guys!!!! Grin Grin
