Thanks everyone :) I just LOOOOOVE how sweet and easy going she is. Until right before getting on, I never even laid my weight on her! She has had a saddle but no girth (was measuring for a girth) and has had a surcingle, but no weight. I had planned just to start getting her used to some weight, but she soooo didn't care so next thing I know i"m on her ;) I won't be RIDING her for a bit yet, but I just HAD to see what she'd do ;)
Radi is 2.5 also, and so I suppose it's time to get cracking with her! The weather is FINALLY cooler now (low 90's is cool! LOL) so I can start working more with the horses, that's always nice! Radi will need a lot more preparation that Cali does, but we'll get there! :) I PLAN (have a busy week so can't garauntee it) to get Radi used to a saddle pad this week. We'll see how quickly she takes to it and go from there. I let the horses choose the speed at which they go. However, I don't know that I will be the one to break Radi. I might send her to a trainer who is EXCELLENT with horses. All depends on Radi. Combining spooky horse with BIG, and little me... I might stick with easy going Cali only haha!
Sat I'm taking Summer to our 3rd show. I plan on taking Calista along. I don't have the class list yet (they usually mail them... but since I haven't gone to one of their shows yet, maybe they took me off the list... so I'll request it via email). So if there is halter, I might put Cali in it just to do it, but if not or if I decide against it, at least she'll get experience going somewhere. It won't be a long show, so I figure that's a good one to take her to :) And hubby will be there, so he can keep an eye on her while I'm showing.
LOOOOOOOVE my girl! :)
