    Running Martingale...

Some of my friends/ co-workers are going to be taking their coaching exam in April and they need to know how to fit martingales. I already explained how to fit a standing martingale to them. They know when a running martingale fits just by looking. However, it has been so long since they have been told how to fit it, they are unable to explain. They even asked the lady who has been running the riding school at the barn for the past 25+ years and she can't even explain! Can someone please explain to me so I can pass this along? Thank you so much in advance!

You fit running martingales the same as a standing: the rings should reach the horse's chin when it's standing with its normal headset.

I was taught that when you lay it up the shoulder the top of the ring should be at the top of the wither.

Well, looks like I will get one of the candidate's to try these methods tomorrow! I don't know if she has a martingale though. I will also ask around at the barn while I'm working tomorrow. Thanks!

Does anyone else have a different method for fitting a running martingale?
